Unofficial W2W2!
Real Woods to Water is no longer happening, but we are unofficially
re-doing it this October! Grab 7 friends, make a team, and join us on a
fun and informal relay from Cable to Ashland, WI. (*this is not an officially organized race, just friends running 80 miles for fun*)
About the race
Woods to Water was an 80 mile, 8 person relay that went through the Chequamegon National Forest from Cable to Ashland, WI. Each runner ran 3 approximately 3 mile legs. We will follow this format (and the old route, as much as we're able to!) for the unofficial W2W2.

W2W2 2018
W2W2 will take place Memorial Day weekend 2019 in Cable, WI. Could be either Saturday or Sunday, let us know if you have a strong preference.
How it will work
1. Form a team of 8 people - we're inviting the Carleton alums we know, but feel free to invite your significant other, other former MIAC (or other) running friends, etc.
2. Register your team using the form at the bottom of the page.
3. Team captains will receive a race packet (probably in September) with info about the route and exchange zones. We won't be flagging anything on the roads, but we'll make you a google map with pins at the exchange points. It will be an adventure!!
4. There won't be official timing, but we'll give each team a time recording sheet with your captain's packet. Winners get first showers/first beers afterwards.
5. If you have a team member drop out, you can either replace them or have other people on your team run extra legs, whatever you want to do. We're happy to try to help connect interested people to teams (google doc to do this linked below).
Requests!
Since this isn't an officially organized event, please try to be polite and respectful of other people on the roads (we'll try to stay off of the main roads) - i.e. don't stop your van in the middle of the road, try to park in reasonable places, drive like a normal person, etc. We haven't told anyone we're doing this or asked to close roads.
If at all possible, teams should use one vehicle - it's a lot more fun to be with your team in a van, and it will make it less crowded on the road. You can rent vans at MSP.
Weekend
Depending on numbers/interest, we will either reserve a group campsite somewhere in the area for Friday night and get a shared house for Saturday and Sunday night, or do a shared house for all nights. Please let us know if you're interested in sharing a house on your registration form!
There's a lot to do in the area - hiking, biking, kayaking, breweries, etc.
Need to find teammates? Use the google doc! Once you have a full team, please register using the link below
